ABOUT CJCPS

The Caribbean Journal of Criminology and Public Safety (ISSN 2073 5405) (formerly Caribbean Journal of Criminology and Social Psychology [ISSN 1025 5591]), edited by Professor Ramesh Deosaran (Emeritus) is the region's only international criminology journal. This journal is published twice yearly (January and July), the inaugural issue was launched in January, 1996. 

Comprising a 26-member Editorial Advisory Board of internationally renowned scholars and researchers, this journal fosters interaction among academics, policy makers and judicial administrators in the Caribbean and internationally.

  • This journal seeks to develop and promote Caribbean research and publication in the areas of criminology and public safety.
  • The CJCPS fosters interaction among academics, policy-makers and judicial administrators in the Caribbean and internationally. Papers from scholars and practitioners within the Caribbean region and other parts of the world are therefore welcomed.
  • Articles with a multi-disciplinary thrust, papers dealing with theoretical issues, criminology and public safety or cross-cultural implications, will be considered suitable. See Guidelines for Contributors.
  • Book reviews are included.  Authors who wish to have their books reviewed should send these to the Book Review Editor.
  • Brief Commentaries, Research or Theoretical Notes which challenge or enhance current issues on the theoretical or research literature are encouraged.
